DELL 4Q sales (IDC)

Patrick, Gabriel, Jim
The original report, Jan 97, shows the following data:
for US 4Q sales (1996 vice 1995.)

Rank Vendor Units 4Q96 %total Units 4Q95 %total %Increase (units)
1 CPQ 1,080 13.70% 844 12.4 28%
4 DELL 546 6.9% 327 4.8% 67%
on 7,880K total units.

Therefore, *assuming the same basis for this report,*
and using the new data, I extrapolate to get (4Q1997):
1 CPQ 1,600 18. 1,080 13.7 52%
2 DELL 906.6 10.2 546 6.9 66%
on 8,888K total units

(Total US 4Q1997 units, using CPQ data: .18/1600 = 1.000/x)
(Total DELL US 4Q1997 units: 1600 * .102 / .18 = 906.6K)
