In summary, he said that many of the cases are only mild symptoms (think common cold), which resolve quickly. In light of this, it is very likely that many people don't seek diagnosis or treatment (regardless of whether you live under socialized medicine or not) and just go about their daily routines, including work. As a result, the fatality rate of the virus is likely much lower than the reported rate due to the under-reporting of infection rates. Just like the flu, the highest fatality rate is among those with compromised immune systems: the very young, the old and the infirm (primarily preexisting pulmonary conditions).

All of which seems to me a very rational, common sense understanding of the situation. Not that many of the "news sources" would bother trying to report an accurate representation of it.
