Can you explain to me what the following means (it's from the Broderbund section) and how they match up?:

(left column):

providing an authorization code at the
information manufacturing machine authorizing
the reproduction of the information identified by
the catalog code included in the request
reproduction codes; and

(right column):

The electronic signal arriving at the consumer's
computer system must be appropriate for that
computer system as determined by the electronic
set of data which enables or authorizes the
computer system to reproduce the software as
identified by the catalog code.
