Makes sense. If it is too lethal, the virus quickly runs out of hosts (e.g. ebola). The most insidious disease though would be one that spreads easily in one category, e.g. the young, and effectively kills another, e.g. the old and vulnerable. This is exactly what common cold, influenza and noroviruses do. And Covid-19 is a new and more virulent addition to this set.
