Contagion is not just a quality of the germ. The social interactions is actually a bigger factor. You may have heard that several conferences have been cancelled, including SXSW most recently (Redhat, Amazon, etc) have all cancelled various events or their participation. And as I said, over here employers are asking their staff to work remotely. So hopefully it will not turn out to be a disaster. Like I said, I am not hording food. I am staying home per doctor's instructions...and also because I'm not feeling well and could use the rest. I have had pneumonia before and of course the flu. This feels different than both. I do run out of breath easily and that makes me tired at the slightest. I have non-stop headache. I have coughs, etc. These are all common to the who family of flu infections. But I am a very low risk person, as is my wife. So we sort of think that it is likely that she got it from her Iranian friend. And we are treating it as guilty until proven innocent kind of deal.
