NO! College should be free, just like K to 12 is!

You are still not getting it. If we can coax people to go to college with free college, or other learning institutions, they can then learn to think better and be better citizens.

It was a community college that saved me and tens of thousands of other poor kids in Richmond California. Lots of them gang bangers Lots of them went just for the social aspect and without knowing why exactly, but as they, learned to think, they became more and more sophisticated in their behavior.

I am one of those who knows what real ignorance is. When I started I was sooo ignorant and insecure and by the time I left the university of Washington I was near the top of my class with almost straight A's.

California's very low tuition's made that possible. And if we can coax kids into going to college by making it free so much the better as they will help society a lot more if educated.

I find it nuts that we let the Republicans piss away over 20 trillion dollars in the last 20 years on stupid wars and stupid tax cuts for the rich, but then we don't think we should pay for free college or universal health care, or a New Green Deal.

That is just downright stupid.

In Sweden, there are no fees for students from within the EU/EEA and other Nordic countries. PhD programs are also tuition-free. Students from elsewhere in the world can expect to pay SEK80,000-145,000 (~US$9,900-17,900) per year for most bachelor's and master's programs.Jun 15, 2018

"That is a classic right wing idea,"
That's a classic koan response.

"What you do not seem to understand is that free college is not only important for the individual, it is important for society as a whole"
Academic or vocational education for those who want is important, but free, not so much. There aren't many countries that offer free college. We need to make it more affordable, but it's not something we should be giving away for free.
