Down five percent not that big a deal... I mean, there's still 100% left for it to go down... even more with 3x leverage ?

More of a concern that everything is unfolding as it is at the same time... the Fed being out of bullets and all. Sure was right to laugh about it when the BOJ "pumped" the market last week...

I don't see anyone volunteering to step in front of this train, though...

Hopefully, at the best, no one does anything really stupid to make it worse ? But I don't see anyone talking about the geopolitical implications inherent in the Saudi/Russian move to try to put the U.S. out of the oil business, and effectively trying to end our energy independence. That makes me think we might soon see tariffs levied on oil imports... to counter the price manipulation efforts of the Saudis and Russians... and then you might see it whipsaw back in the other direction... heading toward the Saud's $63 target ?

What would that do ? Other than either... stabilize the oil markets... or fill the Treasury with a lot of $ ?

But, the oil debacle happening now on the down side... isn't going to happen twice. Unhappy that I missed the oil trade... or, at least, the easy money made in the sudden downdraft on Friday, to be continued later today. There will be other opportunities as other things start to adjust to the shift... and $27 from $42 over the weekend... does seem a tad extreme ? What happens with price discovery when the market opens ?

What news will there be to drive the oil markets?

I don't think the Fed can do a damn thing about any of that... and they shouldn't try... but, the Saudi's can do something... and Trump certainly can...

I'll consider bottom fishing oil futures tomorrow... trying to avoid the falling knife... but, holy crap... what if Trump announces tariffs on OPEC + oil ?

I'm more worried about the rumors I've heard that they might halt the trading in stock futures...

Seems like every time you think you've hit one out of the park... they call the game right after you swing...
