This happened a lot sooner than I expected because of FTC approval still needed for INTEL. CPQ would not want to compete with INTEL. I imagine the deal has some contingencies such as the FTC approval and also of course a penalty if another buyer wins. But this definitely puts DEC in play and their is no turning back. Would expect DEC to go higher and end up with a deal around 70. After all they have 2 bill in cash. Personally I would be happy to own some CPQ. How sweet it is especially for us long DEC sufferers.
