To Mohan,

According to my calculations the acquisition should increase CPQ's eps by .09 (based on expected DEC earnings for 1998) less the earnings lost on the cash portion of the deal (ie. interest on the $30/shr. paid out to DEC investors). At 7% cpq shareholders can expect tol lose $315,000,000 in interest etc. which equates to .20/shr. In other words cpq eps will drop approximately $.11 per share in 1998 as a result of the acquisition.
