Re: The commercials...

I agree the 3rd quarter commercial was blaise. What Iomega needs is a grounds up ad. Like Intel's ads, which by the way they could use for a bit of lift. Here's a suggestion:

Opening shot: A computer with a lone 3.5" floppy disk and drive. As a 3.5" disk is fed into the 3.5" floppy drive the camera follows the disk in and zooms into the internals of the drive, revealing...

Some ancient looking room (cobwebs and papers strewn everywhere) with a group of people sitting at typewriters trying to keep up with a screen flashing images and data.

Fade to black.

Switch to a shot with a similar computer but this time with a Zip drive and the words "Zip Inside". Same intro with the Zip being fed into the Zip drive and the camera in tow. Revealing...

Some dudes/dudettes (those Intel types) in clean room suits hanging out in a sleek room partying and dancing around something in the center of the room. The same screen flashing images and data but now the images and data are being sucked toward a glowing object in the center of the room faster and faster until there are no images/data left. Camera zooms in on the glowing object to find a safe with a lone Iomega trademark (still slightly glowing).

Camera pulls out of the Zip drive to show one last shot of the computer and Zip drive but this time the words Zip Inside glowing.

Announcer: It's for your stuff. <pause>

As the announcer finishes a giant zipper closes the screen up with a nice sounding "Zzzzzzzzzziiiipppp" leaving only that glowing Iomega trademark and the words "Zip inside" on the screen.

Announcer: Get it? Got it? Good.
