The UK government announced today they are moving from containment to delay now. Sweden is giving up containment as well. Europe is overwhelmed. Iran is overwhelmed. USA is on the back foot. The appearance of containment in China and Korea may just be temporary as well.

In the UK, there now is an acceptance of the fact that the virus is likely to spread throughout the population. It is now just about delaying and flattening the peak of the epidemic bell curve. The British medical advisor, on the UK government's press event today, even said it now was undesirable to completely stop the virus, as we need immunity to it in the population, indicating that the virus is here to stay. It is hence now only a question of reducing the disruption and death rate. In the long run, it may now be inevitable for the whole population to encounter this virus at some point.

Sweden has also given up on testing, tracing and containment it seems, in Stockholm at least. They are now moving from containment to delay. According to the newspaper Dagens Nyheter, they will not test, diagnose and professionally intervene in every case. If you are young and healthy you are now told to stay at home and ride it out on your own, not to burden the health service. Only if hospitalised will these cases be tested. This is the same advice as given by the UK government today.
