Good read. The strain on the healthcare system caused by a fast growing epidemic has a major amplifying effect on the deadliness of the virus.

While Italy has the highest numbers now, outside China, I fear Iran will overtake. Italy's healthcare system is ranked quite highly in many studies. And the numbers produced by Italy makes sense — they follow the expected exponential curve. Iran's daily numbers have flattened out already, which I fear indicate lack of capacity to detect cases, rather than any slowdown in the epidemic. Deaths in Iran are still increasing exponentially.
