Found Corona in Cape Town,

Along with baby squid, prawns on toast, lamb shank, and panna cotta. Appetiser, drinks, main course, and dessert for 5 comes to ~US$ 18 per head. Of course, unclear how one would generate such on daily basis in this society for the fare. Suspect values exposed on NYSE and JSE might already or soon go some distance to make whatever ends meet.

Downside here be the occasional electricity outages, ostensibly scheduled. Lots of sun here. Solar roof ameliorates the condition but the batteries on cellular base stations on the street run dry after ~30 min whereas the main outages run for 90 min twice daily. Is okay, as these outages are mostly scheduled and seasonal, one can easily adjust nap schedules to match.

We have stocked up on several boxes of masks via medical folks introduced by the charity daughter is working with. We aim to bring back to HK as see no need for such regime in S Africa; not yet. Hong Kong likely safer place than a lot of other places.
