Did I get a fair shake?

I wonder if you could answer a question for me.

I know nothing about bonds. A broker at Merrill put me in some bonds in a retirement program.

I transferred the account to a discount broker and asked the broker to sell the bonds at market on 1/20/98.

The price I got for the bonds was much less then the listed price in the paper.

I sold three issues:

Issue: Coupon Treas Receipt 2/15/7
Listed Price: 58.725
I received: 53.605

Issue Coupon Treas Receipt 11/15/8
Listed Price: 52.80
I received: 47.041

Issue: Treasury Investment Growth 8/15/9
Listed Price: 50.401
I received: 44.633

I called the broker who said that because my sales were not round lots, I got less than the listed price. When I asked him if the disparities could be as much as 10% as shown above, he would not comment.

Do you think I was treated fairly? If not, what agency could I contact to seek recourse?
