The virus is NOT 10X more lethal in most civilized countries.
Actually, it is.

There is only one reason why countries like South Korea experience a less than 1% fatality rate for coronavirus. And that is because of the way they aggressively handled the pandemic.

Based on all the reports, coronavirus can spread more easily than the flu, and the symptoms are more severe. Most fatalities are due to complications that arise because of those symptoms. Since there is no known cure or vaccine for coronavirus, the only thing we can do is help patients get through the symptoms, especially the respiratory ones.

Bottom line is that if we treated coronavirus like it was seasonal flu, the death rate from it could be anywhere from 5-8%, not 0.5% like seasonal flu. And given how the coronavirus is more contagious and spreads more easily than the flu, you're talking about a HUGE chunk of the world's population right there.
