Here's an example of why I think brokers rank up there with used car salesmen in the credibility department: Earthlink Network Inc. (ELNK) 28 1/2 +1 3/4: EVEREN Securities ups its rating on provider of Internet services from short-term "market perform" to "market outperform," but keeps its long-term rating at "market outperform." On Thursday of last week, the firm lowered its short-term rating from "outperform" to "market perform" on valuation.....
