The "Chinese Virus." Read this Graeme Wood piece on the obvious pivot that Trump and his apologists have taken in attempting to rebrand COVID-19 as the Chinese Virus or the Wuhan Flu or whatever. What they want is for people to get distracted and to turn this into a second-order fight about racism or political correctness or the culture war. Don't let them do it. Trump can call COVID-19 whatever he wants. He can call it Captain Trips if it makes him happy. But for the love of God, don't turn it into an issue. Because the issue—the only issue—is the president's real-world actions which have made this pandemic an order of magnitude worse for living, breathing, people. This is the issue. The only issue.
