Calling it the Chinese Virus is calling it exactly what it is, which also allows Trump to engage National Emergency powers to bring enormous assets to bear to help the American people.
Really? He couldn't use those powers if he just called it what the WHO calls it, COVID-19?

Tell me what magically happens when we call it the "chinese virus" instead of the coronavirus or COVID-19?

The origin of the virus isn't important right now. It's already global, it's already domestic, it's already local. We could build a 20 foot great wall around China right now and it wouldn't make a difference.

Only in the post-mortem will it matter, but first, we need to control the "mortem" part.
