I agree you put out some excellent ideas in the post.

There are many people on SI with very strong opinions, many of which are at odds with each other. For example, CHIP frequently burns people's butts with his bearish interpretations, but he is consistent, uses his TA as he sees it and announces his opinion. (I wish he would go into the specfic analysis of the TA so I could see the same things in the charts, but he consistently chooses not to.) I have absolutely NO PROBLEMS with his analyses, however. Also, Tim Luke (ASND thread) frequently is at odds with common opinion, but he too has reasons for his positions. There are many others.

Your presentation was fine, but so was Fahmy's response (in general). You two just have different opinions regarding what are the most important factors. So what? That's what makes SI so great! I wasn't knowledgeable enough to have originated EITHER post but got to think about both points of view. Even the whole discussion over earnings projections reported in Zacks (do I remember that right?) was informative in that it teaches us to check the numbers. All of that could have been done without anyone slinging mud.

Let people hang themselves with their own pettiness. Don't respond to the bait with throwing barbs (directly or subtly woven into the language); just restate or elaborate on your position and let them sink to lower levels.
