PARADIGM TECHNOLOGY PROVIDES COMPANY UPDATE Milpitas, CA -- November 20, 1997 -- One year after beginning the transformation of Paradigm Technology Inc. (Nasdaq:PRDM) into a lean, fabless semiconductor company focused on the development and marketing of fast SRAM devices, the management of Paradigm has prepared a company update which is being sent to shareholders. The update is a progress report on the company's activities over the past year. The update is also available at the company's Web site at www.prdm.com . "Having reached the one-year anniversary of our decision to reorient Paradigm, lowering costs and focusing our efforts to those areas and markets that offer us the best opportunities for growth and profit, we thought it would be a good time to review our progress in 1997 and our goals for 1998. "We have received a positive initial response to a number of new products introduced this year and believe that they will have a positive effect on revenues in 1998 and beyond," stated Michael Gulett, president and CEO. Paradigm has released three new products in the past several weeks: the PDM31532, a 3.3. nine nanosecond access time 64K x 16 asynchronous design SRAM targeted to the cellular phone, high-speed telecommunications, network and portable applications; the PDM4M4110S15M, 512K x 32-bit, 72-position SIMM module; and the PDM4M4120S15M, a 1 meg x 32-bit, 72-position SIMM module. The last two products are targeted to the digital signal processing markets and are useful in robotics and instrumentation applications. Bookings, backlog and new product introductions are not a reliable measure of sales for future periods. Except for historical information contained herein, the matter set forth in this news release are forward looking statements that are subject to risks and uncertainties, including the impact of competitive products and pricing, the timely development and market acceptance of new products and upgrades to existing products availability and cost of products from Paradigm's suppliers, industry wide shifts in supply and demand for semiconductor products, government actions and other risks detailed from time to time in Paradigms' SEC reports and filings. With headquarters in Milpitas, Paradigm Technology designs, develops and markets high-speed, high-density SRAM semiconductor devices to meet the needs of advanced telecommunications, networking, workstations, high-performance computers, advanced modems and complex military/aerospace applications.
