| | | I think, as is almost always true, when the problem is both so obvious and so easily solved... that it isn't solved means that the problem you have, is the problem you want.
Or, in this case, as often true, it is the problem that "someone" wants for you... without consulting you.
In this view, the market issues are mere "context"... as the fight being engaged isn't about the market.
Rather... what else... control... but only involving the market as transit "through the market"...
When you see the two of them competing on the basis of price... to determine which of them will have priority in unfettered access to your ass... ?
Call me old fashioned if you will... but if it is about control of access to my ass.... I think I should at least have a say in the price ?
The two of them are haggling in a negotiation... the outcome of which I can control with an obvious choice.
Monopoly is tyranny.
A free market is one in which there is no fraud, no monopoly, and no obstacles to participation... and that requires both active effort to enable those conditions, and the cooperation, in good faith, of all of the participants to enable it.
All that gets you here, in the way of an advantage, is the recognition that we don't have a free market.
And when that's true... you better cover your ass. |
