FFS, please stop posting links to the Gateway Pundit. Jim Hoft isn't know as SMOTI(Stupidest man on the Internet) for nothing. Might as well post links to Zerohedge, SputnikNews, or RT.
Despite having a decent understanding of human nature, logical fallacies, and the Dunning-Krugger effect, I'm still amazed at how people can show critical thinking skills in one sphere by being able to sniff out BS by Intel water carrying analysts, and yet show complete credulity towards spin by internet charlatans in another.
Here's what we know: 1) This started in China. 2) China suppressed the threat for weeks.
3) WHO was slow to react, but they were working with data provided by China.
4) Gee, it's interesting that SMOTI jumps from Feb3 to March 12th. It's as if those 6 weeks didn't exist....
5) Trump, everyone in his administration, right wind media, etc. downplayed this for weeks after it was evident that China lied and that this was VERY serious.
6) In late February, The President said that the number of Cases in the US was only 15 and about to be 0. 7) He said that one day, when the weather is warm, it might just disappear; there is no evidence of this, and it's spreading locally in Australia and Florida, etc. 8) The mentioned drug cocktail has serious side effects and hasn't been shown to work outside of a petrie dish. 9) Someone at the CDC made the decision to not use the WHO test. Once the crisis is over, hopefully a congressional inquiry will be conducted to look into this and into other lapses. The CDC is part of the executive branch, and so ultimately the buck stops with the President. Hopefully there's an innocent explanation for not using the WHO test, but knowing this administration it wouldn't surprise me if a profit motive was involved.
IMHO, our federal government's response to this has been embarrassing, and the buck for that has to stop with Trump. His political appointees are in charge of all the relevant institutions. You can blame WHO, China, the Media, and leprechauns, etc. all you want, but this is on Trump. |
