The virus thing, TBD.
LOL!!! "Virus denial" is fascinating to me for a lot of reasons...
First as almost every element in it is about human behavior in addressing uncertainty and risk in conflict, all about poor coping skills, and almost none of it is about fact, science, or reason.
Second, as there isn't any approach to it I have found that is not irrational and logically inconsistent...
For instance, "its just the flu" requires believing that "they" would gladly fabricate a giant global conspiracy... faking the virus risks in order to elicit particular behaviors in social reactions based in fear that they intend to impose on you... to get you to do... X, or Y... whatever...
But, at the same time, it requires believing that the same bad actors would never, ever consider accomplishing that goal... by actually making a virus that will actually kill you ?
So, it acknowledges that there are evil actors involved in fostering giant global conspiracies... but it also requires that "Dr. Evil" has to be an Austin Powers character lite... necessarily evil in such a way as to be entirely insincere... and willing only to "fake" the threat...
It's also a part of the "coming war" between the U.S. and China... but it requires that China must have faked the empty streets in Wuhan... like for a movie... even though we see same happening here now... and it requires that the U.S. is cooperating, with arch enemy China, in fostering and extending their fraud, for some inexplicable reason ?
I'm not overly challenged by the facts, the science, the logic and reason... or by the foibles of humans and their coping mechanisms...
But, I also think truth is really not that hard to parse... only because the usual suspects continue to do exactly what the usual suspects always do...
And mostly what they do is screw things up... [Edit: And then lie about it.]
