I saw the interview last night. Many good moments, but Dr Fauci struck me as being a bit of a bureaucrat. Maybe I’m wrong. But - the man finished his postgrad training, and stayed in Gov jobs happily ever after. Spent most of his adult life, it seems, as a big boss at the NIH. He’s fine, a very knowledgeable man - but I don’t think he ought to have the last word on broader decisions, involving the economy, etc.
