Versatility Telecom Named Product Of The Year By CTI Magazine

FAIRFAX, Va., Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Versatility Inc. (Nasdaq: VERS - news), the leading provider of open, enterprise-wide customer care solutions for teleservicing, telesales and telemarketing for the services industries, announced today that Versatility Telecom has been named product of the year in the call center products category from CTI Magazine. The award, presented to companies for their outstanding products, is part of CTI Magazine's first annual awards program designed to highlight the overall best products in the ever-expanding computer-telephony integration industry.

''It is a tremendous honor for Versatility to be selected by CTI Magazine for Product of the Year. Versatility Telecom represents our commitment to helping companies in service-oriented industries strengthen customer relationships and turn customer interactions into sales,'' said Michele Perry, senior vice president of marketing at Versatility.

According to a recent Frost & Sullivan report, the telecommunications industries is one of the fastest growing consumers of call center hardware and software. The research firm reports that the telecom segment's overall percentages will increase from 12.3% of the overall market share in 1991 to 12.8% in 2001 -- representing $406 million and $1.4 billion respectively. Deregulation and its aftereffects are the two key factors driving the adoption of call center technology in the telecom industry.

Versatility Telecom, introduced on September 10, 1997, was the first in a sequence of such vertically focused applications designed by the company. Versatility Telecom is designed to provide telecommunications companies with an out-of-the-box, CTI-enabled customer care solution. Telecom carriers face a number of challenges: rapidly developing, bundling, marketing and supporting new products and services; building strong relationships with customers to increase retention and reduce churn; and exploiting the convergence trend by invading new markets. Versatility Telecom helps companies overcome these challenges by making it simple to assimilate new products and services into the call center and strengthening customer relationships while leveraging them for increased revenue.

Versatility's other industry products include Versatility Financial Services for the retail banking community and Versatility Energy for the utilities community. All of Versatility's industry products were designed to help companies manage the Customer Care Lifecycle, which includes acquisition, service, sales and retention, of their most profitable customer segments.

''There are thousands of CTI products on the market. TMC(TM) Labs is respected in the industry for its objective, in-depth reporting. The Product of the Year awards list exemplifies premier products that should be seriously considered prior to a product purchase,'' noted CTI(TM) publisher Rich Tehrani. The full list of winners will be available in the February issue of CTI(TM).

CTI Magazine announced the creation of its Editor's Choice awards program in its March/April issue. Engineers from the TMC(TM) Labs spent several weeks culling the brightest CTI stars from a large number of contenders. The result is a listing of over 100 products, from Internet telephony gateways to call center headsets, that the publication believes will be the most valuable starting point for readers implementing computer telephony.
