The case number is too low on your link. About half or more of those who become infected, never get sick. They heal without knowing they had caught it, thus they didn't get to the doc and to be tested.

This fact alone, if it holds, cuts your 2% mortality rate in half to 1%.

What can be expected to cut the mortality rate even lower, maybe even by half again, is changing human behavior. In the early stage of a pandemic, people aren't taking defensive action because they don't know there's a virus afoot.

Now they do. High risk people such as myself will stay buttoned up until a vaccine comes available.
