Nice review, thanks. So, studies show that masks aren’t perfect, but clearly better than no masks, including surgical.

Would be interesting to know how much of the aerosol passing through the mask does so by going through the barrier material - and how much because of the poor seal between the mask and the face. Maybe it’s time to abandon the traditional design - and make something with a better seal? Maybe would work better having the sides of the mask made of some hypo-allergenic rubbery material, and use replaceable filters?

At this time, it seems that any mask is better than nothing.
