i am so sorry to hear of your daughter's illness and
terrible experience on her way home, but very very
glad to see she is home again where she will be
taken care of.

trudeau has said in his briefings that many out of
country canadians lie about their state of health
in order to get on a plane home. many have said
they would do the same. that's neither here nor there.
returning canadians are officially mandated to self
quarantine and are expected to comply. i can't recall
exactly but something was said this morning about
measures being put in place to monitor returning
canadians.

regarding temperatures, our chief medical officer said
this morning is it quite easy to take a tylenol to reduce
a fever and get a pass.

i have nothing but good words for the efforts being taken
by our federal, provincial and municipal governments
and there is not another country i would want to be in
at this time - or ever.

i am very pleased to hear that more stringent restrictions
will be put into place at our border if trump goes through
with his stated wish to lift restrictions in his country and fill
the churches by easter. however, i think graham got to
him and told him that would not be politically good for him
and would not play out well for him in november. that's
all trump has to hear to change his tune.

he has often referred to this as a war and himself as
a wartime president. his base instinct is to get the country
running again and to hell with the sick and dying. they
are disposable (they're gonna die soon anyway) and if
the odd younger person dies, well, c'est la guerre.
collateral damage. i've hear him say, "more die of flu and
we don't shut down schools and lock down; more die
in car accidents and we don't stop manufacturing cars."

anyway, i digress. it's hard not to these days.

good to hear from you again - and i really am glad that
your daughter is home, safe and sound.

- rose
