IMO, the reason things did not change after 2007 is that Obama and Democrats in general did not want to take on Wall street and the oligarchs. They saw them as too tough.
It would have been a blood in the street fight. And this was no drama Obama. Notice Obama's AG did not indict even one banker and they were involved in hundreds of billions of dollars of fraud.
We will put a poor black kid in jail for years for smoking a joint or stealing a pair of tennis shoes, but steal billions and you are seen as a hero, like Jamie Diamond, Robert Rubin, et al.
Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, one of my favorites, said he thought we dems could have gotten climate stuff passed, but when he took it to the Whitehouse they told him they do not do stuff they are not sure they can pass.
That attitude, IMO, is why we did nothing in 2007 and with Biden will probably not do much this time either. he is pretty cozy with Wall street.
Look what just happened with the 500 billion! Trump just said fuck you to the congress and is giving the money out on his own and you know it will be passed out to win favors.
The Democrats just trusted him again like they did with Bush and the vote to give him power to go to war.
The dems need to learn we need to shut the pubs down hard.

The Fed balance sheet numbers are updated on Thursdays, usually after the market closes. I'm guessing the Fed is bailing out more businesses than the stimulus plan.
With all this socialism and free money you'd think things would change but the same happened in 2007 and nothing changed. Why? Because the media and the gop are joined at the hip. They need and use each other to keep the country misinformed and ignorant. |
