Bill,

Thanks for the article. This story proves my point. A few months ago, you couldn't find a good thing about Informix. And, the CEO's of both
Sybase and Oracle were questionning the "survival" of the company.

Now, we are seeing a small, but steady stream of "maybe things aren't so bad at Informix" articles. I am telling everyone that this CEO is doing the job. This upcoming earnings report is going to be positive.

And, again, would Bob Finocchio with all the lawsuits outstanding allow his CFO to make the statement that Informix will be profitable for all of 1998 if it weren't true? I HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt it.

Think about it. The CFO position has been the worst problem for Informix for the last year. If Informix didn't have any visibility on its
profitability would it dare make a statement to the contrary? No way!

What a disaster it would be if Informix said it was going to be profitable and it had big loses..

Bob F. isn't a "talk show" guy. He isn't going to be out there "talking it up." He is a "I'm going to prove it to you QUIETLY kind of guy"

The trend is on our side. Stay tuned friends.

Jeff Bertrand

ps. By the way, the only bad news you hear about Informix is the regurgitation of "Informix is in bad shape because of the restatement tune." This is old news.
