As I understand it, if someone e.g. coughs into their own hand or shook hands with somebody who did, then touches a door knob, an ATM machine screen or pinpad, grocery store cart or grocery checkout screen or pinpad, a gas pump handle, a C Store pinpad, etc., etc., the virus could be placed onto that object and transmissible to your hand or mine. Then, you casually touch your face without thinking about it, and presto. Supposedly, touching ones own face with a contaminated hand is the major source of infection. Aerosol might be just the beginning of the chain.
Then, you touch another pinpad or object that is clean, and pass it along to everybody else who touches it after you...
Blue nitrile gloves, and sanitize everything you touch outside of your home. As of today, you could eat a meal off my car door interior and exterior handles, seat belt latches, steering wheel, Start button, and shift lever. |
