Indeed and it is still going on. As we speak Trump is trying to cut food stamps and get rid of ACA.

Here is a map of all states that expanded medicaid. Notice almost all 14 states that have not expanded medicaid are in the south and rural Republican states, and the couple of southern states that did expand medicaid have Democratic governors.

Even NOW the heartless pubs refuse to expand medicaid.
