I agree with your post. IMO, when individuals have been introduced to the lower priced computers I find it difficult to accept the position that, "owners will not want to perform additional computer applications."
If we assume the position that (1) individuals will want to add applications, (2) there is increase ownership and marketshare of the lower priced computers, (3) the software companies will require increased power application to run their software, (4) new and more powerful applications to run new electronics, (5) continued self-interest need of companies, CEO, etc. to make additional profits,
and (6) the greed of stockholders to require excellent returns on our investment, then, increased powerful semiconductors, semi makers and equipment makers will be required. The final result will be additional profits in our pockets.
Just my opinion.
