SUPER FREEBEE!
I emailed Doug Webb with a copy of an Excel template of the original one I did some time ago. Now, I thru it together and really never made any improvements. George Van Noy took that template and turned it into a masterpiece. UNREAL George! He put alot of work into this baby! Hopefully Doug will add this to his website. Here are some of the features:
George Van Noy enhancement of Herman Matos' original work:
1. The values in red are all the vaiables you need to enter. The values in dark red are variables that are calculated, however, you can either change the formula or enter a value directly. For instance, cell A20 is calculated from the strike value of the first covered call sold plus/minus the varible in A21.
2. As you continue to write calls, you can simple enter the new stock price directly into A20.
3. Cell I18 is the number of months you want margin interest calculated, and J18 is the % of the Margin Account. I19 is the Margin Toggle, enter 1 if you want to calculate based on margin values. I21 is equity commission,
4. J21 is option commission, and J24 is option fee per contract. To include commissions into calculations, toggle I24 to 1. These commission fees are not completely worked out and in complex transactions should be checked.
5. Cell J22 is the total of Margin and commision fees.
6. Cells E21, E26 are the cost adjusted values per stock of CC retained, and called out.
7. D21 and D26 interest calculations have been changed from Matos' orginal formula. These are now correct, I believe, and are calculated from the value of the total orginal (including ongoing transactions) capital invesment, Cell D8.
8. The F column, strike month: simply enter 5 for May, or 1 for January, and the name of the month is concatenated with the strike price in column B. Similarly for B1, just enter 1 in G1 and Monday is entered, 5 and Friday.
9. For the lazy, B7 through B17 are the stock prices when that option is transacted: no need for this value, but handy for recordkeeping. George really go into this project. This is a must have template for every CCer out there!
Thanks George! You made my day! |
