Why do people think Donald Trump is not intelligent?
Julien Hurault, former Senior Systems Engineer at Hewlett-Packard (1998-2003)
How about people who have worked closely with him, don’t you think they would know?
Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Trump had the understanding of “a fifth- or sixth-grader,”
White House chief of staff John Kelly called Trump “an idiot” and said he thought the president was “unhinged,”
Both Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and former chief of staff Reince Priebus called Trump an “idiot.”
Former economic adviser Gary Cohn said Trump was “dumb as shit” and that he’s “Less a person than a collection of terrible traits”
Former national security adviser H.R. McMaster said the president was a “dope.”
Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said in November 2017 that Trump was “like an 11-year-old child,”
Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in July 2017 called Trump a “f***ing moron.” This was in a meeting where Trump idly suggested increasing our nuclear stockpile over a hundred fold.
Tom Barrack Jr., a billionaire and one of Trump’s closest associates, reportedly told a friend that Trump was “not only crazy—he’s stupid.”
Working with Trump is “like trying to figure out what a child wants”—White House deputy chief of staff Katie Walsh.
Damn near every person who has worked with the man has marveled at his supreme lack of curiosity and intelligence. Donald Trump is a malignant narcissist who is controlled by his impulses, which is why he can sing a person’s praise one day and then call them the worst ever the next. He has absolutely no self control which is why he burns so many bridges behind him. |
