Charles,

RE: Your UNCANNY SPINning capabilities -

As we have come to expect, twister, the dipshit, has once again
offered up an opinion that has no conceivable logical basis.

CPQ (the GIANT "computer manufacturer") is nothing more than a
resales channel for Intel. They aren't going to be able to do
anything with DEC that DEC hasn't been able to do for itself,
which isn't much. So, where is the threat to SUNW in this merger?
There isn't a threat to SUNW. Period. DEC has tried to push NT
on their Alphas for some time now, to no avail. Ultrix is weak
and I don't know how many customers are using VMS. DEC has been
having trouble innovating, unlike SUNW, for some time, and CPQ
isn't going to innovate squat. Since they don't develop anything
down in Houston, when someone mentions "innovate" they probably
think of Bill Gates.

I agree with you, that CPQ is most interested in DEC's support &
service base. They're gonna need it when they start trying to
support NT in the next couple of years.

cheers,

cherylw
