I'd say, E_K_S, that you make several very good and telling points, such as ...

1) Companies may focus on having their manufacturing facilities located in the US (for several reasons) rather than in China.
There has, IMO, been a lot of criticism about the Chinese "domination" in certain product sectors. Certainly there is some justification in that. HOWEVER, NO ONE FORCED ANY AMERICAN MULTI-NATIONAL CORPORATION TO "SET UP SHOP IN CHINA" !! Much of that "translocation" to China was done for the "Profit Motive". If any fingers need to be pointed at anyone that pointing should be done to the Multinationals and to the "GLOBALISM MANIA" that has been the focus in recent years, IMO.

2) If US spends a similar amount on an infrastructure bill to upgrade the US domestic infrastructure systems including roads, rail and even decentralized power (the USA) could really improve the delivery of (their) products & services.
There is much that the USA needs to do about its OWN INFRASTRUCTURE FOR ITS OWN POPULATION. In this regard I would strongly suggest that the USA cut out its wasteful "FOREIGN AID BUDGET" where massive amounts of US Dollars end up going down "black holes".

3) I can also see much more spending on how we deliver health care services and how we help older people to improve quality of life at home and many other investments that we learn from this pandemic event.
And in addition to that, for the USA to begin expanding its Pharmaceutical Manufacturing capability instead of being "at the mercy" of supplies of strategic drugs from China, etc.

4) I look at the opportunities and huge efficiencies we gain w/ these new investments. The $2 Trln spent to fight needless wars can now be spent in the US w/ direct benefits to the people.
Yes, very good point about "useless wars". Fortunately, IMO, the USA now has a President who is against wars and who wants to bring American military BACK HOME and to stop meddling in the affairs of OTHER SOVEREIGN NATIONS. Other Sovereign nations should be left alone to sort out their own problems and to not make THEIR PROBLEMS AMERICA'S PROBLEMS.

5)It may/could be political but w/ this pandemic, it is a wake up call for both parties to work on legislation that achieves domestic independence and makes the best manufacturer in the World.
And I would suggest that the Democratic Party, especially those in Congress, snap out of their TDS MENTALITY, get off their butts, and start doing some honest work for the American people who voted them into that place ......
