that is not accurate. the person doesnt not have to cough or sneeze. just talking and or breathing is enough to infect. thats one of the reason social distancing is so problematical. people think that the person has to be symptomatic to infect. they dont. fyi last time i was at the grocery store i was not able to prevent at least three people from getting within 6 feet of me at one point or another. that was my last trip to the grocery store.Also you are relying on the store to keep sanitizing the check out counter as well as the terminal you pay at. One place I asked about it the cashier told me she tries to do it at least every 20 minutes. from what i observe watching lack of social distancing among young adults and some older people where I live I suspect this pandemic has a ways to go.

for me its not worth the anxiety or the risk when i can get it delivered. take it out of the bags outside.etc. I think the tip is well worth it given the time saved probably 45 minutes of travel time finding the items and waiting to check out.
