Don't beat yourself up for this.

I know others that have done it, usually with smartphones in pockets.

My "water resistant" Galaxy S7 flopped into the toilet recently (clean water, thank you.) I got it out quickly and this time it was ok - not like the time I drowned an S4 (don't ask the color of the water that time, TMI.)

I think minute rice is the best for your purpose, because it is dehydrated.

Its human to err.
