Survey shows growing interest in Internet advertising
A new survey of manufacturing executives by the Cahners Business Confidence Index shows almost half expect Internet advertising to account for the largest increase in their marketing budgets this year. ''Hardly a blip on the marketing radar screen just two years ago, it's increasingly evident that advertising on the World Wide Web and on-line services, in general, has begun to draw the attention -- and ad dollars -- of even tradition-bound, low-tech manufacturers,'' said Cahners economist Daryl Delano.
The survey also reported that smaller businesses expected a higher percentage of their ad spending to go to the Internet than did larger companies. "Internet advertising seems to be viewed as a way of leveling the playing field,'' Delano said. |
