Is it possible that doctors hate intubating CV patients due to significant risk of being infected in the process, regardless of personal protection they have on??? No doubt about it. Sure, there are risk to patients from the intubation like aspiration pneumonia, perforation of esophagus, pneumothorax etc) but when the alternative is death, the intubation and ventilator are clear winners for the very sick patients.
