(OT) The very first image that came to my mind was the fence

that the biker tried so desperately to get through (McQueen played that part, if I remember right) in The Great Escape.

I hardly ever watch movies .... not even once a year, I think. But that was such a great movie, in my memory, and at that stage in my life. I miss movies like that. I don't quite know why. They seemed less gimmicky, and they worked with what they had.

Somehow McQueen never struck me as a great actor. I think, like Redford, he always played himself. I guess it works for some people.

Strange .... how much the idea of a fence can change.
