If you look at your last graph, you see that the bend in the mortality graph is ~3 days after the confirmed cases graph. So the two charts are essentially the same but time shifted by 3 or 4 days. This is because people have to be visibly sick before someone examines them. Then, some of them will die a few days later. This is why the two graphs are so similar.
