Assuming we are uniformly missing 90% of all infections, 8.24% of those in New York have been infected.

This compares with 15% so far in Gangelt, Germany where the spread was not hindered by any artificial means like masks, quarantines, or social distancing.

We could also compare this with the estimated 25% of the population who were infected during the 1918 H1N1 influenza pandemic.

If the infection cannot be stopped, New York is about half done in comparison with Gangelt. But Gangelt may not be done - we'll find out more as the study continues.

Assuming reported cases miss 90% of those infected:

New York 824.6 infections per 100,000 infections x 10 = 8.24% have been infected

New Orleans 392.0 per 100,000 x 10 = 3.92%

Denver 133.7 per 100,000 x 10 = 1.34%

Los Angeles 79.3 per 100,000 x 10 = 0.79%
