Lisa, Nikkei closes above 17,000 for second day in a row as it finishes down only 50. Asia is "calming down" (and Ike's "divergence theory" continues). HSI, Jakarta (5%) and Korea all up. Asian holidays now in front of us later this week as Lunar New Year and Moslem Eid al-Fitr festivities begin. Lets see if U.S. market can rally on "eve" of State of the Union or is cacaphony tuned in elsewhere? JT
