elpolvo~

tanks for the minutes --
you be good at that!
sorry i missed this one.
the internet here is just not up to doing zoom.
it's sort of the equivalent of snail mail
when it comes to video conferencing.

here's a bit of an update from here on the far east coast.

our province is basically on a sort of lock down.
you can't just enter the province without good reason.
this is fairly easy to control as Nova Scotia is only connected
to the rest of the country by a fairly narrow corridor, or by ferry.
from what i have heard, only essential goods and services can come here,
or people returning from elsewhere, or a damned good reason to be here.
pretty much all of the first cases were from people who had been traveling
in either europe or the U.S.
fortunately, our province brought in a 14 day self-isolation order
for people who had been traveling -- that was awhile ago.
that may have slowed the spread of the virus.
unfortunately, it is in the province now - not spreading super fast,
but it's here and a couple of people have died this week.
there are a few people in hospital, but not too many as yet.

everything is in lock-down mode to try to crush the curve
in the next few weeks.
you can't go to the parks or beaches or use most of the hiking trails.
most stores except grocery and pharmacy can only do curb-side pick-up
of online orders.
the grocery stores are encouraging this too.
no restaurants open -- just take-out food allowed.
many banks are closed - just ATMs now.
basically, everyone has been told to Stay The Blazes Home.
there are now several songs by that title as Nova Scotians
like such things and will turn anything into a song.
people told not to go out driving around for amusement.
a lot of people here have cottages or cabins in the woods (their "camps").
last week, the province told people that they will have to choose where to
spend at least the next 2 or 3 months -- their house, or their camp --
and go there and not expect to travel back and forth.
postal service is still working.

i'm doing okay here.
my property is pretty large - a couple of acres
with a long stretch of river frontage.
i'm working on getting the vegetable gardens ready.
planted up the cold frame last week.
will start planting stuff in the little greenhouse sometime soon.
i have not stepped off my land in over 4 weeks.
friends dropped off a few supplies last week
and with what i now have, i guess i'm good for 2 or 3 months
which should get me through to vegetable season.
hopefully, the very strict measures in this province
will flatten the curve -- crush it. we'll see.

i will try to think of something to record sometime soon.
glad you are seeing the Sage2 videos.
he's a lot of fun. good company.

take care all. stay well.
