My concern with the Clinton situation is the uncertainty it brings to the market's direction. Given that congress may not help the IMF with a cash infusion (and with the general melt down of overseas markets) this uncertainty becomes a real factor. There is blame being placed squarely on the IMF for many of the asian monetary problems.

And why should we help out the IMF? Why should we pay for all of these defaulted loans? Sometimes loans are bad loans--debts can turn sour. It's the nature of the game. I'm wondering how this situation will affect Clinton's/congresses position on the IMF.

Given all of this, I've gone to a majority cash position in my long term account. Still have some aipn and other holdings, and I'll trade short term if I like the play, but I'm now in a wait and see stance. If Bill get's booted--he'll more likely resign if the writing is on the wall--the market is not going to react favorably. It might be a short term effect, but the market already has some serious pressures surrounding it.

I'm a conservative, but I can't look anyone in the eye and state that Clinton has done a lousy job. His presidency has been a success up to this point.

If he survives (and I think he probably will) and helps get rid of the IRS and we move to a flat tax rate of, oh, say.........zzzzzz.......
........zzz....zzzzzzzzz........uh....uh......WHAT?

Er, dozed off there...had a dream about becoming a democrat.
