As a matter of interest, have you, or anyone else here, considered Russian Bonds ?

Here's what they were going for very recently ....

The Yield on a 12 month bond is around 5.7%. In the USA you'd get only about 0.2%.

And Russia's National Debt level is low compared to many other countries, about 12% of GDP .....

In the USA one is looking at about 104% of GDP .....

In addition Russia has been steadily building up its National stockpile of Gold Reserves ......

Currently that's about 2020 Tons. At about $55mil./ton that gives Russia a Gold Reserve value of about $111 billion.

Seems to me that Russia is a fairly financially stable country with little national debt and good reserves.
