A sailor assigned to the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt has died from virus complications.

There are now more than 580 sailors from the USS Theodore Roosevelt that have tested positive for coronavirus, according to the US Navy, making up 75% of the Navy's total cases.

At the time that captain Crozier was summarily removed from command by Trump's acting navy secretary Thomas Modly, Trump was reported to have stated that "I want him gone" noting that only a handful of sailors had fallen ill. The acting navy secretary has since resigned, after a profanity-laced recording of him addressing the crew and insulting calling captain Crozier, following Crozier's dismissal, was leaked online. Modley's trip to the USS Roosevelt to deliver this talk to the crew cost at least $250,000.

Crozier had plead for his crewmen to be allowed to quarantine on shore, and to leave behind a smaller contingent, stating "We are not at war".
