In the short term, gold, here as GLD, is setting up for a peak. The -DI is down on the floor at 0.28, while the ADX line is at 95. Price is at the top of the bands... and they're widening... while MACD is pinching hard = peak. The good news is, that while the metal may be in for a struggle soon, the mining shares seem they're doing pretty well today, even without the metals moving higher... and gold could drift up along the top bolly for a bit... In the short term UCO chart, it looks like oil is setting up for a bounce... maybe. The ADX is level at a nice mid-range acceleration value of 44, the -DI is well below the +DI, which is at 21, which gives it a positive bias... while 25 is close, and that level on +DI will have it "accelerating higher." ADX shows it isn't likely to drop much... neither one showing it near a major inflection point... so ready to move higher in the range. MACD is almost level, right on the line... so a small move up puts it in the sweet spot for a sustained move higher... maybe not a big jump higher. Trading has set a fairly firm base at $2... and that's where we are... with the Bollies pinching hard... Could it break lower out of the bolly pinch ? What are the odds of the Saudi's and the Russians setting their official selling prices for this month... lower than they are now ?
